Innovation and Development of Water Amusement Equipment in China

In the 1980s and 1990s after the reform and opening up, theme parks were quickly introduced into China, and the early water parks were in the urban amusement parks that appeared in theme parks. The first water park in China was the "water world" that was opened in Guangzhou Orient Park in 1985. Since then, dozens of water parks have been built in cities in the eastern part of China, which started a new chapter of Chinese water park.

Guangzhou Haisan Amusement Technology Co., LTD.(hereafter referred to as Haisan Amusement) Since its establishment in 2002, it has realized the importance of design and research and development innovation, which can only have a foothold in the fierce market with constantly designs, research and development innovation. In the second year following the "big horn" came into China (in 2008), Haisan Amusement was the first to imitated and developed the first set of "big horn" that was made in China, it was also China's first set of domestic large aquatic amusement equipment (4 people/raft), and it soon put into operation in the same year in July in the Water World of Suzhou Amusement Land, and became the first supplier in China that can produce large domestic aquatic amusement equipment, it broke the monopoly of large foreign aquatic amusement equipment in the Chinese market.  In 2009-2010, Haisan Amusement first developed the "beast bowl" (spiral chute) and "the soaring cyclotron" slide (family big skateboard) in China with independent property rights , and those equipment was put into operation respectively in the Treasure Island Watertown of Foshan Amusement Park and Xixia Dinosaur Garden Water World and they all runed smoothly. From 2011 to 2013, Haisan Amusement has developed the big ring chute and python chute in China, and it has been successfully put into operation in Hengdian Fantasy Valley Water World.

Domestic amusement equipment industry started very late and the market competition is intense, but after years of accumulation of precipitation, Haisan Amusement always focuses on the research development and innovation on large aquatic amusement equipment and on the high quality of the equipment, Haisan Amusement enjoys a good reputation in the industry, it is one of the members of China National Technical Committee of Amusement Facilities, participated in the drafting of GB/T18168-2008 standard. Haisan Amusement is closely held to the market demand, and continuously increased research and development efforts, achieved a series of achievements, filled the gap in the domestic large-scale water amusement equipment market. But at the same time, Haisan amusement is also aware of the limitations of imitation research and development and in order to achieve real advantages in the fierce market competition, we must develop and innovate independently and get rid of the mode of research and development imitation.

Since 2014, Haisan Amusement has increased the intensity on the independent research and development innovation, its independently researched and developed "28 m High Speed Slide", "Six People Drift Raft Family Slide", "giant HongXia" in succession, and those products had put into practice in Sanya Dream Water World, Hangzhou Paradise Langlanglang Water park and other parks alike successfully, it marks that Haisan Amusement has become an water park equipment manufacturing enterprises with the independent research and development ability. In 2015, Haisan Amusement's independently researched and developed product “Super Tornado Slide “put into operation in Suzhou Paradise Forest Water World and Dandong Jintang Water Park,  which had caused a stir within the industry, the new equipment is sought after by the market. In 2016, Haisan Amusement developed the first two sets of large-scale amusement equipment - " Legend Dragon Slide" and " Winding Paths Slide", and was put into operation in Yulin Kela bay Water Park and Changsha Shuimofang Water World.

As a microcosm of the industry, the development of Haisan Amusement basically reflects the development course of domestic water park equipments industry. Innovation in research and development is the primary productive force, which can continuously update products and inject fresh blood into the market, and promote the rapid development of the industry. For equipment manufacture enterprise, it can only way out from the competition via innovation and development, seek development under the crisis, improve its product quality and innovation ability, improve service levels, to let investors have more confidence to equipment manufacture company, have a good guidance for the industry and promote the healthy and orderly development of the industry.
